Astigmatism correction with toric contact lenses

Low and medium astigmatism the patient is able to partially correct by increased accommodation effort. However, this may lead ultimately to asthenopic difficulties, particularly where increased accommodation improves vision. The influence of the selected correction amount has spherical aberration, the previous correction, age, subjective feelings of the patient. For good vision and visual comfort is always important to define carefully astigmatic differential and axis of the cylinder. It needs to attend for overcorrection of cylinder.
